What is the nature of work of engineers?

August 05,2010 by: Maxim Thomas

Engineers apply their knowledge in science and mathematics to design and create things, develop existing technology and invent new methods and processes. For example, a computer engineer works on everything related to development and management of computers. An agricultural engineer designs and develops innovative methods of farming and harvesting crops. An environmental engineer develops equipments to control pollution and designs new methods of purifying water and protecting environment. A civil engineer constructs an entire city and meets the challenge of constructing buildings that withstand natural disasters.

Though an engineer’s job responsibility varies by the area of specialization, there is scope for innovation and development in every field of engineering. Creating technologies that make the quality of life better, is what an engineer does regardless of the field of engineering.
