Those who possess the certificate can choose among any of these very rewarding careers: bounty hunter, arson and fire investigator, corrections officer, crime prevention specialist, law enforcer, US Marshals Service, and many other careers in related fields.

Since careers in criminal justice are wide-ranging, their salaries vary greatly as well. However, they are significantly higher than the median national income. Practitioners can earn anywhere from $50,000 to $130,000 per annum. The lowest median income recorded in 2006, are for security guards which is around $36,000. During the same year, FBI agents started federal service with a base salary of $48,159.

Professionals who complete a Master's Degree could earn four times as much as those who hold an Associate's Degree. However, an Associate's and a Bachelor's Degree is enough for individuals to qualify for entry-level positions.
