While there are many who can qualify as good accountants, there are very few who are good at detecting accountancy frauds. This is an area of specialization that needs a keen eye to defects and a good understanding on concepts of accounting.

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting/ Auditing - Forensic Accountancy is a degree that can be obtained from Kaplan University. This course deals with the various concepts of accounting with special focus driven towards the concepts and skills needed to detect frauds. Students will be taught to recognize, detect and curb certain fraud types that are committed against an organization or business. They will also learn accountancy principles and procedures, tax accounting, cost accounting, payroll accounting and auditing procedures.

They will also gain knowledge in the field of business management, finance, economics, business and financial laws and computer applications. These graduates can assist attorneys with cases involving such frauds and provide expert advice during trials.
