Master of Information Systems

University of Phoenix offers the degree program Master of Information Systems for IT professionals who would like to update their skills and knowledge, so they can take on higher level positions in their respective organizations. Graduates of this degree can pursue careers as team leaders for IT technicians or IT managers within government and private business sectors.
Students of this program will have a review of the basic concepts in information systems and programming languages. It will also tackle the different kinds of databases and the various strategies used to manage these. It also talks about the latest security issues in information systems, networking, LAN, WAN, and system design and maintenance.
The degree program also covers the basics of project management, thereby allowing IT professionals to effectively plan and organize their resources, so as to create an information system which complements the goals of the organization. It also teaches them how to assess current information system, and create recommendations that will improve operation through a redesign of the organization's information system.
