Master of Science in Information Security

The course of Masters of Science in Information Security offered by this Graduate School provides a curriculum that addresses the rapidly growing problems of maintaining and securing computer information on a global level. Important areas addressed by the program's curriculum include threats and vulnerabilities, cryptography, authentication and access control, security models, network security, trusted computer systems, distributed systems security, internet security, applications security, and security management and policies.
Information Security involves protecting information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification or destruction. The degree offered by this University is recognized by the United States National Security Agency (NSA) based on its certification of the school's current curriculum for compliance with the requirements of NSA national training standards. Because of this certification, Federal civilians and military personnel are permitted to take the school's certified graduate courses under government sponsorship. The school is also authorized to issue certificates to students who complete such courses. The program is a 36 credit-hour program that requires the completion of 12 courses or 10 courses and a six-credit thesis.
