B.S. in Child Development - Infant/Toddler

During the stages of infancy and toddlerhood, the mother is required to assist in the child's growth and development. Since it is a very challenging task, especially for a new mother, B.S. in Child Development - Infant/Toddler is now offered by Walden University, designed to train teachers in meeting this need.
There is a unanimous agreement among pediatricians that stimulation of the infant through simple playful exercises, such as rolling, kicking, and throwing a ball, is a tremendous help in the infant's physical and mental development. By taking this degree, students will be learning strategies to help the children achieve balanced development.
Students will examine theories and researches related to infants and toddlers in social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Parent/caregiver communication and interpersonal skills, developmentally appropriate curriculum planning based on observation, the nature of group care, and the needs of the individual, and ways to work with children who are at-risk will all be tackled in the different courses offered in this degree.
