BS in Elementary Education/Special Education (Dual Major)

Because of the understandable clamor for special education teachers in the elementary education department, the introduction of this course program is very timely. Grand Canyon University's BS Elementary Education/Special Education dual major degree is a suitable answer for the need of elementary school pupils who have special needs to be considered. These needs are not confined to just physical incapability or emotional distress. The differently-abled in terms of mental capacity (whether the difficulty was congenital or was brought about by inappropriate mental development during the child's development years) are also included in the specialties of a graduate of this course.
Aside from studying theories and concepts regarding educating the differently-abled, individuals who are taking up this course must be able to complete the practicum in the form of a 16-hour hands-on teaching of students from both regular classes and special classes for children who have special needs. As part of their job-finding training after graduation, the people enrolled in this course will have to apply at their state's regular and special education schools to complete this practical requirement.
