M.A. in Teaching - Outside Iowa

If one holds a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution or an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the Department of Education with a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.50, he can become a qualified secondary teacher in grades 5 to 12. This is possible through applying for the M.A. in Teaching program at Kaplan University.
The program is designed for individuals in over fifty states and even abroad. It also can serve as an approved alternative route to achieving a certificate to practice for some individuals in some states. However, those who do not reside in Iowa can not be recommended by Kaplan University for a licensure. Despite this, the M.A. in Teaching program can still be of great help because it equips students with the essential skills and knowledge that they need in order to successfully achieve their certification in their own states. What are not included in the program are courses involving fieldworks or a student/internship experience.
