Master of Education (Ed.M.)

Oregon State University's Master of Education (Ed.M.) is a degree program meant to support practicing K-12 teachers in their careers. This degree program is aimed at nurturing a stance of continuous learning and development among teachers, and gives importance to scholarship, reflection, inquiry, openness and social responsibility. In addition, this degree program also facilitates the professional growth of teachers as informed practitioners, reflective researchers, and professional leaders and advocates.

This is a 45-credit degree program for the convenience of practicing teachers worldwide, where they will complete 14 core credits, 12 credits specific to the grade level that they teach and 19 credits focused on electives. They will have an option to add an ESOL/Bilingual Endorsement as well. This program meets national and Oregon state standards, as it incorporates the standards outlined by the National Council for Accreditation of Teachers Education (NCATE) and the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) on Oregon.
