Associate of Applied Science in Medical Administration

As the number of health care facilities is on the increase, so is the need for people who can successfully administer the medical records of all the patients who come in for various kinds of treatments. There is a need to special skills that are needed in order to execute the responsibilities that come with this role.

In order to provide the relevant skills professionals seeking jobs as medical administrators, the Rasmussen College offers the Associate of Applied Science in Medical Administration course. This is a two year degree course in which the students opting for the course learn the various facets of administration.

The completion of this course will enable the graduates to perform various aspects of the job which includes medical coding and retrieving and storing medical records. They will also gain a sound understanding of the medical terminologies, medical ethics and medical law. They will be taught about medical insurance, procedures for billing and other skills like communication, decision making and critical thinking.
