Associate of Arts in Psychology

The Associate of Arts in Psychology degree, offered by University of Phoenix through Axia College and its associate's degree granting program, is a degree designed for individuals who are still working, and would want to add psychological theories and principles to their repertoire. The degree centers on positive psychology, theories of personality, human sexuality, the physiological and neurological basis of human behavior, psychological disorders and social interactions. Students are exposed to an inter-disciplinary approach, wherein they analyze the interrelationship of fundamental theories and how they define and explain human behavior, development and abnormalities. By also providing a comprehensive psychometrics course, students are given the leeway to make their own theories. Graduates are to be able to diagnose psychological issues, and respond to these properly using tried and tested methods as well as alternative approaches. Only the best psychological minds in the country teach courses and assure as fulfilling and complete learning experience for students. However, completion of this degree is not a basis for licensure.
