Police officers partner up with them to analyze and interpret evidences which can be used during court trials. As forensic investigators, they are also expected to prepare reports on their findings of evidences obtained and can also be called upon to stand trial during court cases. On TV, the job of a forensic investigator seems cool and exciting, but in reality, most of their job involves lab work. This however does not mean that their job is not interesting. It can be interesting depending on the circumstances.

An online forensic sciences degree student would be exposed to a number of disciplines and fields of study such as chemistry, biology, calculus, physics, quantitative analysis, statistics, forensic microscopy, courtroom testimony and criminal evidence.

Career and employment prospects for forensic science graduates are promising and bright. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job growth in this field of profession will increase by 31% from 2006 to 2016. Salaries on the other hand of forensic science technicians in 2007 averaged $47,680 per annum.
