Master of Science in Bioinformatics

The course of Bioinformatics offers an up to date and comprehensive program that organizes and translates recently available information on all biological organisms. This information is derived from the data and results of the human genome project and its consequent projects. The course also touches on the human DNA and the analyzing and mapping of it sequence. Bioinformatics has been around since the 1970's but there have been many recent findings and studies as well as advances in science made since then.
Master of Science in Bioinformatics deals with study of information technology in the field of structural, molecular and systems biology. It integrates computer science, biosciences and bioinformatics in just one course.
The degree requires the completion of 11 courses, 5 of which are core courses 4 are concentration courses and the rest are electives from bioscience and computer science. The degree can be completed in 2 years depending on the student's performance.
