Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration - Local Government Management for Sustainable Communities (Course-Based)

Students in this specialization learn the means to create and maintain sustainable communities, and how to access the tools and resources for its development. Students are prepared for roles as town managers, department heads, or directors of social service organizations.
Walden University's school of Public Policy and Administration offers flexible graduate programs that trains one's critical thinking and cultural competence, while participating in a collaborative network of faculty and professionals. Students in the course-based program are to follow a structured and specific plan of online courses which, depending on their performance, would have them eligible to graduate in three years. Completion requirements include 82 total quarter credit hours, a Professional Development Plan and Program of Study, 20 days of residency, and a minimum of 8-9 quarters enrolment. Specialized course topics include Elements of Sustainable and Livable Communities, Tools for Sustainable Community Development, and Current Issues in Regional and Local Public Policy.
