The University of Maryland University College is one of the 11 accredited, degree-granting institutions in the University System of Maryland. This word-class institution offers an excellent degree program, the Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies. The curriculum covers subjects designed to meet the students' needs in having a comprehensive study of the Asian Region in its different aspects - politics, economy, culture, and language. Students are introduced to an interdisciplinary approach towards critical issues in Asian studies; and are made to examine ethical and social issues in an Asian context. Provided with the strong foundation of knowledge in that area of diversity, students will learn to expand its appreciation of that particular field of study, as well as become their cutting edge to being successful in an associated profession of their choice.

Graduates of this course will develop the skills, knowledge, and attitude necessary to coping up with conditions in an Asian setting.
