Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice - Criminal Offenders

Criminal offenders are the main characters in a crime scene because they are the perpetrators of the crime. Therefore, it is important the law enforcement officers are able to distinguish whether or not these offenders must be held liable for the crimes they committed.
While for most crimes, criminal offenders must be punished for the crimes they committed, some cases like people with mental illnesses are not given equal punishment such as those people who are in their right state of mind when they did the crime. For that reason, law enforcement officers with a criminal offender specialty must have ample knowledge about the areas of psychology and psychiatry since they must distinguish which criminal offenders have real mental illnesses and which have none.
People who have finished an online degree in this field may work as legal consultants of either defense or prosecution. They may also stand as friend of the court who may offer professional advice regarding the ability of a witness to undergo trial.
