Master of Management / Public Administration

Public agencies and organizations are like businesses. They have customers they must satisfy. There are people they need to motivate and resources which are limited. Just like businesses, public agencies have goals to meet, and must be staffed by well-trained managers, to ensure the attainment of these objectives.
The Master of Management with concentration on Public Administration, offered by University of Phoenix, will enable public servants to learn how they can better manage their organizations, in the hope of improving their capacity to provide quality service. It teaches students how they can develop their interpersonal skills, so that they can better communicate with their personnel and their superiors. It enables them to review performance of their subordinates, and teaches them various coaching strategies so they communicate problems and collaborate with colleagues and personnel to provide a solution.
Students will also learn about different public policies and activities, such as urban planning, decision making processes, policy implementation, and monitoring.
