Master of Science - Criminal Justice

A Master of Science in Criminal Justice degree is for interested individuals to increase their knowledge about implementing criminal justice through higher learning. This degree, as offered by Virginia College, focuses on the study of the criminal justice system, with a focus on managerial and administrative viewpoints. This degree has integrated in its curriculum advanced courses related to the field, such as law, policy, ethics, enforcement, corrections, juvenile justice and other related fields that aim to deepen the understanding of criminal justice. This course is recommended for individuals who are already involved in the field, but aim for positions of leadership and authority.

This degree, being mainly interested with theories and practical applications, focuses on developing an understanding of the field. Students will be made aware of the different issues concerning the criminal justice system, in which they will be analyzing, criticizing, and give recommendations to policy makers, in order to address these issues.
