Master of Science in Criminal Justice - Homeland Security

The specialized course of Homeland Security under the Science of Criminal justice is designed to give its students an advanced and in-depth knowledge base as well as a skill set that applies to the field of great national and international security. The course is offered to local law enforcement and any other emergency personnel with responsibilities in homeland security matters, as well as those seeking to enter the field of homeland security.
Homeland Security deals with the security efforts to protect the United States against perceived internal and external threats. The term arose following a reorganization of many U.S. government agencies in 2003 to form the United States Department of Homeland Security. The course concentration on Homeland Security will prepare and enhance graduates' response time and effectiveness in the event of a terrorist threat or natural disaster. Studies specific to this field include resource and agency coordination, management of critical incidents, and many other special issues regarding homeland security.
