Champlain College
Champlain College is among the oldest educational institutions in the United States, having been established in 1878 as a non-profit, private institution for imparting practical business skills. The small school had grown over the years into a large institution with a tradition of developing leaders and professionals through career-oriented, high quality education. The Champlain College started its online programs in 1993. The students of the Champlain College come from 32 states in US and 17 countries across the world. The college is accredited to the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
The Champlain College offers 7 majors in business, 7 majors in education and human studies, 8 majors in communication and creative media, and 7 majors in information technology and sciences for the undergraduate programs. The college provides 4 masters' degree programs.
The online programs of the Champlain College allow the students to coordinate their class schedule with their present lifestyle containing either career or personal commitments. The online programs immediately start improving on-the-job effectiveness of the students in their respective fields of work. The students are also able to network, interact, and brainstorm with the highly trained, talented, and experienced faculty members, as well as the other classmates from all over the globe. This helps the students in enhancing their skills and knowledge and clearing the doubts that occur on various occasions in all the course materials.
The Champlain College uses a special online teaching software known as 'Angel', the students need not download too much. Only the assignments are required to be downloaded, worked upon, and submitted back, which could be done from wherever the student is residing at his/her own convenience and free time. Since the students will be interacting with other students from entirely different cultures and backgrounds, they will get exposed to different and new ideas and perspectives, making their learning process highly rewarding and a rich one.
The online programs had been designed in such a manner that the new students are initially provided with an Online Basic Training Course, to make them familiar with the navigation and operation of the online classroom. The learning schedules are completely flexible, since the online environment is fully asynchronous to suit all time zones.
The instructors will inform the students of the attendance requirements, such as how often should the students log in and how much time they should spend with the instructors. Normally, the students are allowed to log in during any day and at any time, though occasionally the instructors might expect the students to be available at a particular time. This ensures a one-to-one personal attention on each student by the instructors, to impart them the full knowledge needed on the course subjects of the online program of Champlain College.
