Drexel University Online is part of the Drexel University founded by the philanthropist and financier Anthony Drexel in 1981 as a non-profit educational institution. However, the co-operative education program of the University had been started in 1919.

Most of the programs are entirely online, while certain programs require on-campus attendance.
