Harrison College

When a college has over a hundred years of experience to offer their students, you can be assured that they are going to be really good at what they do. Harrison College, having founded in 1902, has become a force to reckon with, having served hundreds of thousands of students since its inception. The college offers all kinds of degrees, which include Bachelors, Masters, Diploma as well as Associate's degrees. You can pretty much decide how much you would like to study once you have entered the institution. There are 6 major colleges in the university, with one of them being related to mastering culinary skills.

A Rich History

Having been found at the dawn of the 20th century, Harrison College was initially called as Marion Business College by its founder, Charles Cring. Rapid increase in size and addition of more degrees to the college bought with it a name change for the institution. From 1913 onwards, it was known as the Indiana Business College, which was the name that it adhered to until the year 2009. While the name changed to Harrison College in this year, the other practices continued to persist. To date, it remains a privately held, family controlled college.

Taking care of the students

One thing that Harrison prides itself on is the fact they are excellent when it comes to taking care of their student body. They have a number of support systems in place to ensure that students get what they want, and are not left alone after joining the college. Some of the main services offered by the institution for the students include Student Services Coordinators, Tutoring Services, Student Resource Services, Career Service Resources as well as Online Resources. Students are given the advantage of only learning what is practical and necessary as the curriculum is periodically updated to suit the demands of the market at the time.

Maintaining Uniformity

Ever since it's founding days, Harrison College has always strived to maintain their student body to have an equal number of men and women. Back in its initial days, it was the men who were the titans of the industry. Even at this time, Harrison actively encouraged women to pursue professional degrees and make use of their abilities in trying to establish industries and becoming leaders of their area. They were one of the few colleges to have a 50-50 ratio between men and women in their institution. Learning in this kind of an environment is something different and totally unique.
