Lesley University
The Lesley University is located in Boston and Cambridge in Massachusetts. It was established in 1909 by Edith Lesley. The university began as a school focusing on child education and was a women's institution till 1947 with a board of trustees. In 1944 it was recognized as a college. It began to expand from 1954 and with the introduction of a variety of graduate programs it gained the title of a University in 2001. Only 2005 the university began a co-education.
Programs
The university now has over 20 undergraduate, 90 graduate programs for a Bachelor's and Master's Degree, along with Advanced Graduate Study and PH.D programs. It is certified by the National Association of schools of art and design and by the New England Association of schools and Colleges. Its schools include: The Art Institution of Boston, Lesley College, School of Education and Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences.
Online Courses
Lesley University also makes room for Online Degree Courses drawing attention to aspects such as learning, citizenship and close co-ordination between students and faculty members. The faculty members of the university are well trained and are available to provide one-on-one feedback sessions and handle their responsibilities towards their students whether on-campus or online. They constant multi task as mentors, counselors, help conduct researches, and act as leaders setting an example for their students. Its online programs ensure there is enough and good interaction between the students and the faculty members through board discussions, online chat facility and e-mails.
The University provides rolling admission to its students who can apply for any program anytime during the year. Its undergraduate programs are mostly a 9-week course, while the graduate program is a 12 week course. The complete program right from its information to registration to completion is made easy and accessible online, keeping various time zones in mind to encourage students to find information any time.
Student Life
The University makes room for Residence halls like Doble, Wolfard, Mackenzie, Malloch, Winthrop, Lawrence etc to name a few. It also has 'Victorian houses' and 'Theme Houses'. The internship programs held for students encourages its students to successfully complete projects providing enough experience to be skilled while they set out to begin their careers. Several scholarship programs are available too, and information is made available at the Financial Aid, it also provides grants and loan forgiveness programs.
The Lesley University is also a member of the New England Collegiate Conference and has sports options like basketball, baseball, tennis, volleyball, Softball, Soccer etc.
