Liberty University Online

The Liberty University is a Evangelic Christian and Baptist university situated in Lynchburg, of Virginia. It was established in 1971, by Jerry Falwell which was then named Lynchburg Baptist College. In 1976 it was changed to Liberty Baptist College, and began a university in the year 1984. Its follows the values and teachings of the Christian way of life and believes it is the best to help nurture young minds intellectually and spiritually.

Accreditation

The University was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 1980. It receives the highest accreditation among all colleges and universities and in 2006 had it updated again. Even by the 'Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools, in 1984, to award Associate Degrees, Bachelors' Degree, Doctoral and Masters Degrees.

Courses

The University offers more than 70 majors, also specialization in Aeronautics, Religion and Philosophy, English, Worship and Ministry, Music, Criminal Justice, Business Management, Nursing etc. It also provides a 'School of Law, Theology, Engineering, Aeronautics and Computer Science'.

Online Courses

The university caters to not just its on campus students, but has expanded to students who are enrolled online across the states of the US. It offers more than 30 accelerated degree programs, to help students benefit from the variety of courses provided, it has approximately 35,000 online students. The courses include undergraduate courses, in accounting, psychology, nursing, religion etc. It's degree programs have a boarder spectrum of options such as marriage and family counseling, theology etc. It claims to help enhance one's career skills

Military Affiliated

The University favor the US military, in other words appreciates its service and has taken on the responsibility to serve more than 10,000 students. Keeping in mind the distance and many servicemen and women who are across the globe, is their way of helping them achieve their degrees. They also have 'The Military Tuition Assistance', the 'Reservists Education Assistance', Vocational Rehabilitation and Dependent's Educational Assistance Program, each to benefit and provide aid to the veterans of war and service men and women.

Accolades

Young America's Foundation has rated Liberty University among the top ten of the conservative colleges. US News and World Report have also given the university a good ranking - 'Fourth Tier' for its Masters. There have also been raves about its competitive spirit by Barron's Profiles of American Colleges. The American Bar Association have also approved the University's 'School of law'. The University stood second among the others in Virginia at it had a 94% pass percentage from its 'School of Law'.
